Shopping for a Vinyl Pergola Kit?

Vinyl pergolas are designed to resemble the classic wood pergolas. They are ideal for the do it yourself homeowner that wants to add some style to the backyard.

Most kits can be ordered as either a free standing structure or designed so you can attach them to your home.

Somethings you might want to consider before purchasing a pergola.

Most pergolas are built with 8 foot post heights, which should give you enough height in most cases. But may not give you the look and feel you are wanting for your backyard. If that would be the case make sure to look for kits that have 10 or 12 foot post heights.

Another style option to look at is the post themselves. Does a square post fit your backyards look and feel or would round post be a better option?

Check with your local building code office to see if a building permit is required.

Pergolas will need to be secured to your patio, deck or in your yard. Investigate this throughly before you purchase the pergola.

Although lighter in weight than there wood counter part, it will be easier to install if you have 2 or more people helping build your pergola.
