Outdoor propane heaters put out heat in a 360 degree range and will raise the outdoor temperature about 10 to 20 degrees within a 18 to 20 foot area, maybe less on breezy days. Most residential heaters produce 40,000 BTUs, while commercial heaters have a BTU rating of 45,000.

What to keep in mind when shopping for a outdoor heater.

  • If you plan on moving your heater around, make sure it comes with wheels.
